Recently, a news about a ship disappeared on Bermuda Triangle for 90 years reappears. The Cuban Coast Guard announced that they had intercepted an unmanned ship heading for the island, which was presumed to be SS Cotopaxi, a tramp streamer who vanished in December 1925 and has been connected to the legend of the legend of the Bermuda Triangle ever since.
Authorities from Cuban spotted the ship for the first time on May 16, they try to the communication with the crew a lot of times but it just fails. They decided to intercept it with three patrol boats knowing they will not get an answer.
When the patrol boats finally reached the ship, they were shocked to see a nearly-100-year-old streamer identified as the Cotopaxi, a name that was famous after being connected with the legend of the Bermuda Triangle. There's no one on the boat and by the looks of it, it was abandoned for decades, they think that this is the tramp freighter that disappeared in 1925.
Upon searching the ship, they found out the captain's logbook and found out that it is indeed connected with Clinchfield Navigation Company, the one who owned the SS Cotopaxi, but they didn't say a word about what happened to the missing ship for over 90 years.
Cuban Expert, Rodolfo Salvador Cruz, believes that the captain's logbook that been found is authentic. The logbook contains much precious information regarding the life of the crew on the ship before it disappeared. The entries stop at December 1, 1925.
On 29 November 1925, the SS Cotopaxi departed Charleston, South Carolina, and headed towards Havana, Cuba. The ship had a crew of 32 men, under the command of Captain W. J. Meyer, and was carrying a cargo of 2340 tons of coal. It was reported missing two days later and was unheard of for almost 90 years.
The Vice President of Council of Ministers, General Abelardo Colomé, says that the Cuban authorities will conduct a thorough investigation to know exactly the reason for the ship's appearance and disappearance.
“It is very important for us to understand what happened,” says General Colomé. “Such incidents could be really bad for our economy, so want to make sure that this kind of disappearance doesn’t happen again. The time has come to solve the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle, once and for all.”
The Bermuda Triangle is located in the area between Miami, Puerto Rico and Bermuda, it is known because of its mysterious plane and ship disappearance.
Many stories were made regarding this legend, some are related to paranormal, some are science and the most famous among them is the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.
With all these stories, the scientist was not convinced and still blaming human and natural phenomena for the mysterious disappearance.
However, let's just wait if the sudden reappearance of the SS Cotopaxi will change something about this unexplained things.
