Your Old One 1971 Peso Coin Can Possibly Turn into One Million Pesos! FIND OUT MORE HERE!

Did you ever wonder that an old one peso coin that we often ignore before can now possibly cost P1,000,000? On August 20, 2017, an episode of KMJS (Kapuso mo Jessica Soho) on GMA 7 aired about a one 1971 coin that cost a lot of money in exchange.


A side view image of Jose Rizal can be seen on the front of 1971 coin and his book Noli Me Tanghere on the back. On Facebook, the lowest bid on this coin is 200 pesos and the highest bid is 1 million pesos! They say that this coin is rare and there are only 100 copies that made, and some say that this coin is made out of pure gold. There are a lot of coin collectors that are looking for this particular coin but it is so hard to find one. Even the TV show tried to find one and it takes a long time to finally found an owner of one.

The TV show quickly goes to the location of the owner of one old peso coin, base on the owner there are a lot of persons interested in his old coin but none of them are serious. They only take pictures of the coin but they didn't get it. Based on the owner, they might be a victim of a scam, where they took a picture of the coin and they will try to scam others.


Out of curiosity, they go to an old coin expert. Based on expert's statement. The coin has been altered because it is thinner than the normal one.  The expert also said that the story about the peso being rare and made out of pure gold was all fantasy or not true. It is believed that the coin was just made by a certain person out of his imagination.

After that, they also go to CIIO (Currency Issue and Integrity Office) of BSP to check if the coin was made from the bank. Based on them, there is no history regarding the old one peso coin on BSP and they also said that the coin must be possibly altered from the peso that came out on 1972 and 1974. They also said that there's no history that a coin made out of precious metal were made, and they only use alloy.

After knowing this, the owner of the 1971 coin was so disappointed that the story about the coin was not true at all. But he also said that he will still try to sell it.
