MUST SEE! New requirements for PH Passport Renewal!
It is now required the complete data of the passport applicant to be keyed in because of the new advanced system. Having incomplete data on passport such as province only not knowing the city or municipality without a birth certificate to back it up will not be processed, therefore Filipinos who are applying for passport renewal required to bring birth certificates to easily facilitate the processing, otherwise it will take some time and take longer than usual.
It is required from Filipinos whose passports having incomplete data such as not putting the city or municipality of the birthplace. The copy of the birth certificate should be from National Statistics Office (NSO) which is now known as the Philippine Statistics Authority.
"We are now required to input the city or municipality of birth. This is why we require our compatriots to bring their birth certificates so we can scan it together with the passport application and send it to Manila," Ramos stated in an interview
" If the application does not have a scanned copy of the birth certificate, the printing gets suspended in Manila. So we do not accept or process applicants here unless they have all the required documents because lifting the suspension is a difficult process," Ramos added.
If passport applicants only write the whole information of his birthplace like, if you only write Nueva Ecija in as your birthplace, it should be Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. Otherwise, the system will not recognize the information.
This new system has been started since the start of August this year (2017). Ramos warned the applicants to comply with all the documents and the information needed to facilitate easy, and make it faster so less hassle. However, Ramos also stated that applicants can apply for a renewal or book an appointment with the agency before 10 months before their passports expired to give time for the delivery of the passports thru their career.
Passport applications are free of charge by the only appointment through Passport Appointment Portal except for applications done by senior citizens, domestic helper, and children who are below 12 years old.
For those applicants who are late or unable to show up on their appointment dates since June 1, they are required to set another appointment which they can do online.
Currently, the consulate can process up to 360 passport applications within their 8-hour working period without a lunch break.
